desert place

Hello all! I have another free printable for you today to go along with our study in Leviticus. (more info about that coming soon!) In the first week, we talked about our weaknesses and God’s strength–how we don’t have to “measure up” perfectly because He sees us as blameless (but we don’t willfully sin and…

what a beautiful name

I’m learning that there is more to the Name of our Savior than “Jesus Christ” or “Lord” or “God.” He is described in so many ways throughout the Old and New Testaments through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and the mouths of the people. Yahweh names Himself in all of these ways, by revealing…

breath

one breath away // meditation from my retreat journal // march 12, 2018 Tragedy struck amid attempts of quietness and rest Contemplation turned to consolation And grief replaced all hints of joy But the Peace that surpasses our human understanding came up beside us all In moments hallowed for the shortness of life A breath…

soar

Picture a hawk soaring up in the sky, high above the trees, all the way up past the clouds. Picture what happens when you cast a shadow on the wall; the closer you are to the source of light, the broader your shadow.

We are created in the image of God. In His likeness. (Gen 1:27) If you look at the direct translation of that word, likeness, it more literally means shadow. We are the only creatures that are made to resemble God. To be so much like Him that we could be unmistakably recognized as His children, His family, His representatives, by the rest of His creation. Just like a shadow is not the object it is portraying itself, but an illusion of it. We are not God, but we are made to remind everything of Him

worthless

I have struggled with self-worth and identity for almost as long as I can remember. This issue of self-hatred is so prevalent today and though many claim that it is of God, just looking at the culture of self-hate and harm that surrounds us proves the opposite. This is exactly what the Devil wants us to believe. I am worthless. I can’t do anything right. I’m a horrible person. I am unlovable. I am a failure.

Let Go + Simply Live

I don’t like the thought of being controlled by anything but the Spirit of God. There are so many things that influence us constantly– so many people who have access and input into our existence. People who leave their fingerprints on our minds and manipulate how we live our lives. Spiritual forces of good and evil…

Path

Continuing thoughts on our adventure of life // The path that we choose can either be long and arduous, twisting, turning, but seemingly easy, or straight and inclining all the way. It can be a combination of all of them. But it will never be none of them. Whatever journey you choose, we are all…
